Behavioural Safety Event

22 June 2023 14:00 - 22 June 2023 17:00
Categories: Conferences

Wind Energy Ireland and RenewableNI are delighted to invite you to a free all-island event from 2-5pm on the 22nd of June in the Clayton Liffey Valley, Dublin.

The event is kindly sponsored by Statkraft and Green Tech Skillnet and focuses on the importance of behavioural safety.

Due to the nature of the event we would like to encourage members to circulate this invitation internally across all levels of their company. We are aiming for a blend of site based non safety professionals and safety professionals to attend, and particularly urge attendance from staff who spend a large portion of their time on sites such as site foremen, construction workers, technicians, electricians, drivers and surveyors.

WEI and RNI members can also register non-members to attend by simply including their name, email address and company name in the registration email.

It promises to be a great introduction to and refresher on behavioural safety. The afternoon will begin with presentations from guest speakers from the HSA and the wind industry, followed by a behavioural safety workshop performed by Theatre at Work, based on the true and tragic story of a young man who lost his life within hours of starting a new job.

Through this workshop we will:

• Explore the importance of a safe system of work, highlighting the value of safe practices

• Gain insights into complacency, risk perception and the human factors at play in every workplace

• Encourage responsibility for individual actions in creating and maintaining a culture of safety

“WEI’s Safety Policy forum is the must attend safety event for any company involved in renewable energy, no matter what aspect of renewable energy you work in. The agenda is relevant to all people working in renewables and the audience typically ranges from site-based staff including site managers and technicians to safety professionals and more office-based staff including engineers, lawyers and the CEOs of some of Ireland’s biggest renewable companies. This event has an all-island agenda and is free to attend and is open to both WEI members and non-members - WEI and RNI members can also register non-members to attend by simply including their name, email address and company name in the registration email. It provides excellent insights into safety and a chance to meet a wide range of people from across the renewables sector to share experiences and best practice at all stages of our wind farm projects.” Brendan Heneghan – Chair of WEI’s Construction Safety Working Group

Final agenda details will be confirmed on our website shortly.
