GWO Working at Heights Refresher

Working at Height and Rescue – Wind Turbines re-certification training course covers the basic safety and competence required for personnel working at height within a wind turbine.

The course applies to both on-shore and off-shore activities. On completion of training, participants will renew their RenewableUK Working at Height – Wind Turbines / GWO Working at Heights certification.

This one day course is intended for wind turbine personnel who are knowledgeable of climbing PPE, and using it regularly to climb wind turbines.

If you are not climbing wind turbines regularly, it is recommended that you book onto the 2 Day Work at Height Training Course

• Candidates must hold a valid and in date RUK Working at Height & Rescue – Wind Turbines / GWO Working at Height certificate to enrol for one day re-certification training.
• The certificate must be in date on the date of the re-certification course. If the certificate has expired by one day or more then candidates must complete a two day course.
• Participants should be aged 18 years or over.

• Legislation & wind turbine safety rules updates
• Refresher pre-use inspection and fitting of equipment
• Refresher climbing and safe work at height techniques
• Basic rescue principles and techniques using a constant rate descender
• Practical rescue techniques of self and colleague

The RenewableUK and Global Wind Organisation certificate is valid for 2 years from the assessment date.

An ARCH photographic ID card will be issued on completion of the course

• Full refund will be given for cancellations made in excess of 5 working days before the course start date
• For cancellations made within 3-5 working days before the course start date, a 50% charge will apply
• For cancellations made 2 working days or less before course start date, 100% cancellation fee will apply
• No refund will be made to delegates who fail to attend classes or who do not complete the course.
