Policy Forum
Join us in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Athlone, County Westmeath, from 2-4:30pm on the 9th of April for our first WEI Policy Forum of 2024! This time we will be focusing on the theme of A Sustainable Future for the Wind Sector. Sustainability is a broad topic which underpins many elements of our onshore and offshore industries, and we are aiming for this event to have something for everyone. Our speakers will cover a range of issues which WEI’s Asset Management Committee has identified as being priority areas which impact many companies in all corners of the wind industry.
The Policy Forum will begin with optional arrival refreshments and networking from 1-2pm, and the event will commence at 2pm with an introduction from the Chair of the WEI Asset Management Committee Brian Mullan, followed by WEI Head of Policy Dave Linehan with Industry updates.
Alexander Vandenberghe the Head of Innovation in WindEurope and lead of WindEurope’s Sustainability WG will join to give updates from WindEurope on Sustainability. We will also be joined by Jeanette Gill, Organisational Development Specialist from our event sponsor Green Tech Skillnet who will share exciting updates on new environmental micro credential training programmes for the wind industry.
Followed by Deirdre Timmons Director of PwC who will discuss Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Reporting, Johanna Cafferkey WEI Director of Operations who will introduce WEI’s upcoming Sustainability Strategy and Owen Ryan, Administrative Officer from the National Cyber Security Centre who will speak about Cybersecurity and the upcoming NIS II Directive. Brian Keville, Managing Director of MKO will present on the soon-to-be-published “Repowering in Ireland” report and the afternoon will wrap with a short Q&A and panel discussion with our speakers, ending by 4:30pm.
