Spine-H2-IRL Project Seminar
Join us for the final seminar of the Spine H2-IRL project. Funded under SEAI R&D Program and led by Energy Reform with partners MullanGrid and Wind Energy Ireland, the project had the ambitious goal to develop open models within the Spine open source modelling framework to study future pathways towards a net zero electricity system on the island of Ireland. Over the course of 18 months, the team have engaged with industry and has developed extensive open tools and models to study the future Irish electricity system. Utilising state of the art modelling methodologies, Energy Reform has carried out a comprehensive preliminary assessment of decarbonisation pathways for the Irish electricity system encompassing network, resource adequacy and flexibility. Join us at this seminar where we will present the final results of the project.
The seminar will highlight:
- Details of the cutting-edge modelling of the future Irish energy system including hydrogen and other technologies.
- Insights into how hydrogen and long-duration energy storage can support Ireland's clean energy transition.
- Details of the extensive industry collaboration with key stakeholders such as DCU, Gas Networks Ireland, FuturEnergy Ireland and global collaborations with the Mopo Project (Hoirzon Europe) , TNO and IEA Wind Task 25.
Don’t miss this opportunity to engage directly with the project team, hear about the results, find out how to access the open models and discuss the path forward for hydrogen in Ireland. To register for this upcoming event, click this link.
