Cutting the price of power

17th November 2021

10.30 am - Online

Ireland’s ambition is that by 2030 renewable energy will be providing 80 per cent of Ireland’s electricity but what will this mean for consumers?

Eighteen months ago Wind Energy Ireland showed in a report produced by Everoze, Saving Money, that choices made by Irish policymakers could nearly halve the price of renewable electricity in Ireland or – increase it by as much as a third.

With record prices for electricity and mounting concerns for our energy supply how can we ensure that the renewable energy we need to connect over the next ten years can have a positive impact on the electricity bills of Irish families and businesses?

Wind Energy Ireland CEO Noel Cunniffe will present an updated analysis of the Saving Money report and will then be joined in a panel discussion by Caoimhe Giblin, Commercial Director of energy trading company ElectroRoute, and Daragh Cassidy, Head of Communications with product comparison and switching site Bonkers.ie.

Their discussion, which will be followed by a questions and answers session, will be chaired by Lorcan Allen, Business Editor of the Business Post.
