Net-Zero Committee (formerly 70by30 Committee)

The Net-Zero Committee is one of the main Working Committees within Wind Energy Ireland and it was set up in October 2017. It is run by a chair from the WEI membership and the committee reports to the WEI Board and Council. The main focus of the committee is to work on areas that span across multiple committees which are required to reach a 80% renewable electricity target by 2030, which is driven by the recommendations in the Climate action plan 2023.

  • The chair of this committee is Bernice Doyle and the vice chair is Paul Blount (FuturEnergy Ireland).
  • Working Groups include: Future Networks, Enabling Technologies, EU Energy Policy, Future Market Vision and Future Onshore Wind.
